Med sit nyeste solo-udspil “Rastilho” giver den alternative guitarist Kiko Dinucci (Metá Metá) et forrygende bud på brasiliansk musik til det 21. århundrede. Her blandes arven fra 60’ernes progressive guldåre i brasiliansk musik med punk, avantgarde og afrikansk polyrytmik.

Med eksperimenterende guitar-teknikker, rå vokal og masser af analogt ekko, skaber musikeren Kiko Dinucci et gribende bud på brasiliansk samtidsmusik og et vitalt lydspor til hans hjemby São Paulo. Her trækkes på samba og bossa nova og på en gæld til musikere som Joao Gilberto. Men inspirationen hentes i lige så høj grad hos punk-bandet Fugazi, heavy metal, freejazz og polyrytmisk musik fra Afrika.

Den eklektiske tilgang vil næppe overraske folk, der har fulgt Dinucci i bandet Metá Metá, som også i Danmark flere gange har imponeret med deres psykedeliske og jazzede take på sambaen. Også ALICE har haft fornøjelsen af at præsentere Metá Metá, hvor vi har oplevet Dinuccis fantastiske musikalitet.

Med solo-albummet “Rastilho” føjer han et nyt spændende kapitel til sin konstante musikalske søgen. Pladen blev nomineret til en Songlines Award i 2021, og det er da også en imponerende bedrift, der bygger bro mellem brasiliansk fortid og nutid, mellem folklore og modernitet, mellem tradition og avantgarde. Det er samtidig et album, der for alvor understreger hvor opfindsom og alsidig en guitarist, Dinucci er. Ligeldes viser den ham som en uortodoks, men spændende vokalist, og vi ser i dén grad frem til at opleve ham live i Musikhuset Kbh.
