Hun var der lige pludselig. En hamrende talentfuld, selvstændig og ikke mindst original komponist, arrangør og pianist. Det hele på en gang! Kathrine Windfeld tog alle med storm, da hun dukkede frem for ikke så længe siden. Og hun har siden da bygget videre på sine formidable evner til at skabe musik for store ensembler. Musikken er ikke alene medrivende og melodisk, men med respekt bygger Windfeld videre på den kompositionsform, der blev introduceret af bl.a. Thad Jones.

Her får vi Kathrine Windfeld med hendes eksplosive sekstet bestående af unge nordiske og polske musikere. Det er noget af en treat at få chancen for at nyde denne musik på Jazzhus Montmartres scene. Lokalet vil blive indhyllet i de flotteste og smukkeste toner, når Kathrine Windfeld Sextet tæller for, og vi får mulighed for at indtage hvad, der med garanti vil være en stor del af fremtidens jazzmusikalske udtryk.
