Ellen Andersson has been described as two voices in one - the young, curious and the mature, experienced - a person with a rare artistic depth. With a distinctive voice and an unmistakable expression she has, since her debut in 2016 with “I’ll Be Seeing You”, been praised by both critics and audiences - quickly establishing herself as one of the most notable artists on the Swedish jazz scene. In November 2020, she released her long-awaited second album - “You Should Have Told Me”.

Ellen Andersson er blevet beskrevet som to stemmer i en – den unge, nysgerrige og den ældre, erfarne – et menneske med en sjælden, kunstnerisk tyngde.
Hun er en af tidens mest karakteristiske og unikke jazz-stemmer, med sublim tekstformidling og melodifortolkning.
“Sjældent har en sangerinde vel været så længe ventet. Endelig!”, skrev Johan Norberg.
Siden debut-udgivelsen ”I’ll Be Seeing You” (2016) er hun blevet hyldet af anmeldere og publikum i både hjemlandet Sverige og i udlandet og har optrådt på scener over hele Norden, bl.a. med Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester, Malmö Symfoniorkester og Norrbotten Big Band.
Debutalbummet hædredes med ”Gyllene Skivan” af magasinet Orkesterjournalen for årets bedste jazzudgivelse og som årets nye navn af Sveriges Radio P2.
I november 2020 udgav hun sit længe ventede andet album ”You Should Have Told Me”. På det nye album går hun tilbage til rødderne: Til jazzkvartetten og til en moderne, akustisk lyd.
Denne aften fejres udgivelsen i Danmark i Den Sorte Diamant med en eksklusiv release-koncert i samspil med nogle af Danmarks og Sveriges bedste musikere.
