Violinisten Svend Asmussen (1916-2017) var en vigtig del af dansk jazz helt tilbage fra 1930’erne. Hans formidable swing og lyst til gennem hele sin karriere at udfordre sig selv viste en musiker og en kunstner, der aldrig stod stille, og som altid gik forrest, når nye veje i musikken viste sig. Her hyldes han af musikere, der alle beundrer ham grænseløst. Store talenter på hver deres instrumenter og med en tilsvarende ubændig lyst til at spille musik. Her kan vi forvente kærlige nyfortolkninger af den endeløse række af musik, der kædes sammen med Svend Asmussen. Fra tidligt swing over kabaret-musik til lettere fusion og selvfølgelig sigøjner-jazz.
